The Solidarity Food Shelf is a modest 24/7 self-serve food shelf set up on the front porch of a private residence at 1506 N. 19th Street in Superior, Wisconsin. We offer free food, clothes, toiletries and misc. household items.
The guiding principle of this project is “solidarity” rather than “charity”. That means we view this as a project where working class people are helping one another by sharing resources. When you have fallen on hard times and need a helping hand, come on by and take whatever you need. When you’re doing better and can help out, drop off a donation of some food or other items that you can spare.
In addition to the actual food shelf, we have a free herb and vegetable garden located in the yard in front of the porch. Feel free to help yourself to the chives, beans or other goodies growing there. And we also host a small lending library box located in the front yard garden.
